Sick kids and cheerful elves

Poor little Isabel is having to use the nebulizer 3 times a day. These rapid changes in the weather are taking a toll. Meanwhile, Holly cheered her up this morning by making a snowy North Pole breakfast of powdered donuts and cinnamon rolls!

Gabby's Birthday

Gabby had a great celebration yesterday! I took her favorite pepperoni sub to her at lunch! She had cupcakes with her class. She got her name put up on the school marquee and even had a special visit from her kindergarten teacher who is no longer at the school! Then, we went out for pizza and came home to presents and cookie cake!

And, this morning Holly left a surprise in the refrigerator. She colored the milk pink. So, the girls had pink cereal. They are also both home sick today and enjoying their favorite Christmas movies until their doctor's appointment.

Thanksgiving Weekend

We started out our Thanksgiving in Waxahachie at my mom's house where we also celebrated November/December birthdays and there are alot of them!
Gabby and her cousin, Ella.
My nephew, Ryder celebrating his 1st birthday.
Next, it was off to a 2nd Thanksgiving at Adrian's parents' house. The kids made a play house out of banana plant leaves and that was great fun:-) We also went the courthouse tree lighting ceremony where the kids got to go to the petting zoo and ride ponies. And then Black Friday shopping! We didn't go out early this year but still got some good deals including a new iPad for me, yay! On Saturday, the celebrations continued with Gabby and cousin, Robbie's birthday party. They happen to have the same birthday!
After all that fun, it was time for A.J. and Markus to help Abuelita hang her Christmas lights. They did such a good job that they earned a trip to Pizza Hut;-)
Sad as it made the kids, we had to finally come home. But, look at what we found when we got back!
And, this morning Holly was busy again!
One last thing to post! I'm updating my wardrobe slowly with a little help from Pinterest. The fun thing about losing weight is that none of my old clothes fit so I must buy new ones! This was an outfit idea from Pinterest with my own twist on it and I got the whole thing at Kohl's:-)

Holly: Day 2

This is where we found Holly today:-)
And this is what we had to do to prepare for our Thanksgiving trip! Tex loves the bath and he looks like a big seal sitting in there! It's hard to get him out of the bath because he loves it so!
Happy Thanksgiving!!! Now, it's time for me to get packing!

Elf on a Shelf Year One: Day One

We had a special delivery yesterday from the North Pole! Our Elf on a Shelf arrived! This is our first year so we had to read the story and watch the DVD. Then we named our Elf. Her name is Holly and she even has a cute little skirt!
This morning, the girls went looking for Holly and this is what they found:-)

Wow! What a Weekend!

We need a weekend to recover from our weekend! It was jam packed with fun! First, on Saturday, Gabby had her 7th birthday party at the skating rink! She had soooo much fun skating with her friends, getting her turn in the money booth, and eating yummy cake!
Next, I managed to squeeze in a quick Pinterest project by organizing my wrapping paper on my closet door! Love it! It's going to make my Christmas wrapping so much easier. Before, my wrapping paper was jammed in the corner of my closet and in a box under my bed!
Next, A.J. had his end of season football party at the Paintball place! He had tons of fun!
That same night, while the boys went out to watch the UFC fight, the girls decorated the house for Christmas! It may seem early but this our family tradition since we travel for Thanksgiving and we like to come home to a house ready for Christmas! The girls did most of the tree decorating themselves. The small tree is for their ornaments and the big tree is for mine! I have a Texas theme as you can see from some of the ornaments pictured. And then there are the keepsakes as well like our wedding year ornament and baby's first:-)
On to Sunday! After a great Thanksgiving Sunday at church, we came home to prepare for the Turf Bowl! The girls cheered and danced at our local high school stadium during the championship game! I even got announced and got to walk across the field because I am the coach. Took my back to my drill team days! They did a fantastic job and even got to be up on the JumboTron!
